Chartworx Electronic Display and Information System (TheMAP ECDIS) has been certified October 2015 and meets the specifications of the International Maritime organisation (IMO) and the International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO). The system may, as such, be used to replace the official paper chart if supported by an adequate back up. TheMAP ECDIS is as all other Chartworx systems, unique both in price and performance.
All other Chartworx Electronic Chart Systems (ECS) are most suitable to support safe navigation on board of ships subject to the SOLAS convention, for which ECDIS is not yet mandatory, and are as such in use on a significant number of ships that come under this regulation. It is self-evident that in this case the paper chart has to be used for the primary navigation.
Chartworx up to date Electronic Chart Systems (ECS) can be delivered in several versions supporting, depending on the version, more or less functions. All systems however provide the basic functions to support and enhance safe navigation. Chartworx systems may be supported by both official digital data and commercial, ISO 19379 certified data.
Several practical and straightforward designed menus allow an operator to use to the full, all facilities for planning, storing of gathered data, and to view the chart content and the information of the interfaced sensors using any display scale.
Chartworx TheMAP PLOT, TheMAP 610, TheMAP 210, TRAX Nav Plot and TRAX Nav Pro are electronic navigation systems worldwide in use to support safe navigation on board of many merchant and government vessels and in the survey industry. Chartworx TheMAP systems are also used by the surveillance aircraft of the Netherlands Coast Guard.
All Chartworx systems are designed to take full advantage of the functionality that only Digital Vector Charts can offer and support C-MAP Real Time Update Service (RTU) for C-MAP global chart databases and official via Internet or e-mail, free of charge to all subscribers.
TheMAP Plot / TRAX Nav Plot, TheMAP 610 /TRAX NAV Pro and TheMAP 210 / TRAX Nav Lite.
Chartworx systems offer the possibility to interface most equipment on board. The information of a maximum of 3 navigation receivers, ARPA radar, gyro, autopilot etc. can all be interfaced to the electronic chart.
All the TheMAP systems provide the same user-friendly basic functions, with additional functions depending on the operational usage, user demand and vessel type. The same is true for Chartworx TRAX systems, although they differ significantly from Chartworx other systems because of their unique “icon steered” human interface. All systems are supported by an operators manual in digital format which may be opened by clicking a button on the electronic chart screen.
