In order to comply with STCW regulations and the ISM code, officers in charge of a navigational watch have to follow a generic ECDIS training. This Generic training has to be followed by all mariners that are working with ECDIS. The training can be done only at official training institutes. Furthermore a “type specific” ECDIS training should be followed. This one-day training is given by one of the Periskal trainers with extensive experience in navigation and ECDIS use.
